Newlywed Melody recently wrote this article for ToastedRav.com about divorce parties. My friend, Tawnya, threw a fantastic spa party for all the ladies who helped her through her not-so-fun divorce. I was invited and we had a great time.
Have you ever been to or even hosted a divorce party?

I haven't, and I admit when I heard about them I always thought it was in poor taste. Having been divorced once, and on the brink of it a second time, i thought the idea of celebrating a divorce a little on the tacky side.
Since then, it has been explained to me that it generally been more along the lines of what you said, a party to thank those who helped you through. I think that is a nice sentiment. I still just really don't like the name. A marriage failing just never sounds like something to "party" about.
Never been married, never been divorced, but my boyfriend's best friend/cousin went to the playboy mansion after discovering his wife of three years had been cheating on him for... three years. I agree with Lynn and find the whole notion a little sad, but I've never been in the shoes, so I can't really judge. Though, I was quite thankful my boyfriend did not go!
